Do you remember all the crazy games you would imagine up as a kid? I envy little people. So few of us let our imaginations run wild as adults: we almost need training to allow ourselves to be that adventurous again. Our oldest son is a little too pragmatic: he’s never been into imaginative play. Our little one, though, on any given weekend he’s a superhero fighting bad guys. I love fall. Love it! Seeing the vibrant colors over foliage just makes me happy. We don’t get enough of that in the Bay Area, so getting even few opportunities to photograph around it gets me excited. We finally had enough cold days to turn some trees and bushes red and yellow. As I walked up to our session and saw the big tree turned red I was so, so thrilled. Plus C came in with a red sweater. It was meant to be, I tell you. I’ve known these guys for so many years, and this has been my very first photographing them. Jo likes to joke by saying that they’re a family of Chandlers (Friends reference here), but I disagree — they did great. I regret we didn’t have enough time to get some portraits of them in their Giants gear. They are huge fans. HUGE! Next time, guys. Ok? I got to practice my meows with Chloe. I don’t know too many tricks on photographing dogs, but asking them to look for the kitty seams to work most of the time. Poor B! My big camera lens scared him. I mean REALLY scared him. Every time I would put my camera up to my face, he burst out in tears. I can’t say I blame him. It IS a little scary looking. I love the images that come from it, and it allows me to stand a little further away from skiddish kiddos, while still giving us all a feeling of intimacy. But nope, he wouldn’t have it! We were able to get some awesome family pics at the beginning, but for the most part he wanted some time away from me. It’s OK Buddy. Next time! When I approached T’s car as we met up for our session, she rolled down her window and announced “We’re a mess!” A mess?!?! Baby K got herself a case of conjunctivitis just in time for our shoot. But they came, and her smile just makes you forget about anything else. Seriously, K has an awesome, awesome smile! You can’t help but smile right with her. Big sis A, is just like that too.
