You should know by now that photographers quickly get bored with their toys, and are always on the hunt for something new, better… (prettier)? I’m no different! I’ve loved my USB packaging (hope you have too), but have been feeling it was time for another face-lift… mostly to simplify. When I initially set out to create my mailers, I looked for the smallest box I could find to fit my Print Release, cad and USB drive. Yet, the only thing I could find, that came close to the presentation I wanted to do, I was still sending out an 8″ long corrugated box… all for a tiny little USB no bigger than a paperclip. Overkill? Admittedly, yes! My USB drives[…]See more from “Bay Area, CA Photographer: Updated USB packaging”

Have we talked family albums yet? Ok! Relax, I’m not trying to sell you anything! Well, OK, I’m kinda lying on that one: I’m telling you about a product I’ve been using for about 9 years now: I hope you will try them, but it’s of course your choice. It’s Blurb! Yep, funny name. But it’s a good product. I have a family blog I’ve been keeping for the last 6 years. While having an online journal has been a wonderful way to brain-dump, and share stories with our families, having something tangible to reflect on has been surprisingly rewarding. Blurb gives you an option to take all of your online blog entries and turn them into a book. Their[…]See more from “Blurb Photo Books: Sample and Discount Codes”

When I began Zemya Photography, I never imagined the incredible journey I would go on. I have learned so much and grown so much… as a photographer and a business owner. YOU have helped me become successful and where I am today is thanks to you. You have allowed me to tell your stories: stories of birthdays, and of your love for each other. You trusted me to be in the delivery room as you welcomed your children into the world, and honored me by letting me see the hardships of your lives too. All of these experiences have shaped me to truly be a better person, not just a better photographer. I thank you for that! Yet, as I[…]See more from “Bay Area Photographer: Break”

Bay Area, CA Photographer: Announcing USBs & New packaging

Note: I have since updated (a little bit), my USB mailers. See my new USB packaging here. If you’ve been following me on Facebook (and if not, you really should!), or been stalking my blog you may have noticed some hints toward me moving to new delivery media from CDs. A handful of people have noted issues with reading my DVDs, but more frequently I hear “Uhmn… my computer doesn’t have a CD drive. What do I do with this thing?” So as I look toward the future of computer manufacturing, where now not only Macs, but also PCs are doing away with CD drives, it’s also time for me to move forward… onto USBs. While, I’m really sad to[…]See more from “Bay Area, CA Photographer: Announcing USBs & New packaging”

A new achievement: CMPro

I joined Clickin Moms a bit over a year ago, and almost instantly found a new home. I’m part of several online photographer communities, and while they’ve each brought something unique to my growth process, I found Clickin Moms to be the most supportive, educational, inspiring, and well paced so far. The caliber of talent present in this community is also remarkable, especially at the CMPro level, which is why today I am so thrilled to announce that following a jury portfolio review, I’ve been accepted as a CMPro myself. I genuinely feel honored, and had to read my application acceptance letter a few times before I could believe it was true. I would really like to invite you to[…]See more from “A new achievement: CMPro”
