Look how big A’s gotten! It was nice to see her smile again… even though it mostly appeared at the end of our mini session when she asked “Are we done yet?” Ha!
Bay Area Photographer: September In My Corner of the World
Wanna know what my week-end mornings look like when I’m not hanging out with you guys? I take walks… with Spiderman. On a good day, we’re out for an hour and walk about 3 miles together, around the water’s edge. It’s not a bad view, and this little dude gives me a Woot sticker to keep me motivated.
There is something you should know about Spiderman, too. He’s addicted to Noah’s Bagels’ Bagel Poppers. He spends half our walk devouring them and the other half watching Elmo or Caillou on the Kindle. I, in turn, get to catch up with some podcasts, a call with my mom, or some photography videos. I finally finished my Bambi Cantrell Master Posing class from Creative Live. I won’t even mention how long it took me to do so. I also get to play the exciting game of “watch out for socks and shoes”, because, invariably, he will begin removing those off his body and tossing them at random points of our walk.
So… if you find yourself walking around the San Mateo waterfront and see me, wave, OK?

Wow! Check out this little guys smile. Now check out his Mama’s smile. Doesn’t looking at them make YOU smile?
From the very first photograph I took of this little dude I knew our session will be amazing. They were just so casual and relaxed. Z has the awesome toddler curiosity going on too.
Oh — the best part from our meeting? He was sitting down for some big-boy pictures, and Mommy was asking him to stay down. So, as any smart kid would do: he stayed down… he just inched forward like a little crab. It was hilarious!

G is my little dude’s partner in crime at school. Well, in a few short months, G will have a partner at crime at home too when a little sister joins their brood.
Photographing G is kind of a hoot — he’s so serious! Good thing Daddy knows where all his tickle spots are.

Could these girls be any sweeter to each other? I gotta tell you, I’m kinda loving this 5 yr old age group. I love the 6-18m babies and toddlers, I appreciate the sass of 18m through 4, but photographing the 5+ crowd? We’re talking smart and energetic kids, keen to help you make their little sibling smile, and happy to sit on a post because you think it will make for a good picture. I could get used to this!!
