I hope these past 12 months have been fun for you getting to know me and my family a little bit more. December for us is about the holidays. When I grew up, we didn’t celebrate Christmas. Living in a communist country, in a family and friends that didn’t embrace religion, for us it was about celebrating New Years. There was still a jolly Santa figure (although his name was loosely translated as Grandpa Frost) that delivered gifts to the wee bits of the land. When our oldest turned three we celebrated with a family trip to Disneyland. Well, the month of November greets us with a birthday for a little dude, who this year is now three as well. So guess where we went? And guess what pictures I’m sharing with you of my November? Yep – house of mouse 🙂 I look back on our trip in a much different light than actually being there. C’mon, it’s October. Can you possibly be surprised that my post this month will be about pumpkins? Of course not! In all honesty, this month has been an amazing month. There’s been a bit of change for us, on a personal front with me starting a new job, but I took two me-cation weeks and it was incredible! I spent days alone, reconnecting with… well… me, doing activities I’ve wanted to for years, and even doing some of those pesky chores around the house you want some peace and quiet for. Wanna know what my week-end mornings look like when I’m not hanging out with you guys? I take walks… with Spiderman. On a good day, we’re out for an hour and walk about 3 miles together, around the water’s edge. It’s not a bad view, and this little dude gives me a Woot sticker to keep me motivated. There is something you should know about Spiderman, too. He’s addicted to Noah’s Bagels’ Bagel Poppers. He spends half our walk devouring them and the other half watching Elmo or Caillou on the Kindle. I, in turn, get to catch up with some podcasts, a call with my mom, or some photography videos. Sssh! Don’t tell my boys, but around our house they think that popcorn is a special treat, and watching TV while eating popcorn is an exclusive event. No, we’re not tyrants with the snacks, but cleaning popcorn in between couch cushions isn’t that thrilling, so there you have it.The boys settled in for some nightly after-dinner Netflix,and I snapped away.
