I love love. I love that I was also able to capture the love between these two. Ms. M is the other half of the amazing preschool duo that turned our lives around. Photographing them was my way of saying “Thanx!” Ms. M opted for some pre-wedding, engagement portraits of the love of her life and their four legged Bobo lovebug.
Last year, A asked me if I’d be interested in photographing her family. They hadn’t had family portraits done in quite a while. You see: they’re all grown up, and the last time she remembered taking a family photo was in a studio 25 years ago! Why in the world would I ever say “No!”? I love working with adults: they make me work my creative brain harder, and if you haven’t stood for a photo with your mom for as long as that, it’s certainly time to make up for it. R and L have been married for 40 years. 40 years bring on a lot of life change, so I think it’s pretty incredible to have a couple that has found a way to grow together over the span of those changes. But with their sense of humor, I can actually see how. I don’t think couples photograph themselves, just on their own, often enough after kids. I’m guilty of this too, so this was a treat for me to do, and an inspiration to maybe organize a session for just me and my husband. You hear that, babe? Happy anniversary, you two!
