Oh my! I can’t believe it’s been a full month since I did this family portraits session, and haven’t had a chance to post it. It’s been a little busy around here. My fall mini session schedule is being released, publicly, this week, and the past two weeks have been busy preparing. My previous clients, and mail list subscribers got a preview of that schedule, and sessions have been booking fast… and trust me — there’s a fair amount of time invested in getting everyone set up on the calendar. It’s going to be an exciting season, though, and I’m looking forward to all the “old” and new faces I get to meet with. I can’t wait! S has been[…]See more from “Belmont Family Portraits: Where’d the sun go?”

I don’t get the opportunity the photograph newly engaged couples nearly often enough. And couples that are willing to be funny, and silly, and climb on things just because I asked them to? Even rarer, but I got pretty lucky meeting K and N. I took some time during our mega family session event with his sister, to photograph just him and N. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and couldn’t wait to come home and look through the images we captured that day. K hung upside down a tree… just ‘cuz he could. I made them kiss a lot… just ‘cuz I could ;p It was awesome, and I hope through these portraits below you’ll get a sense of how much[…]See more from “Belmont, CA Bay Area Engagement Photographer: Love”

R and L have been married for 40 years. 40 years bring on a lot of life change, so I think it’s pretty incredible to have a couple that has found a way to grow together over the span of those changes. But with their sense of humor, I can actually see how. I don’t think couples photograph themselves, just on their own, often enough after kids. I’m guilty of this too, so this was a treat for me to do, and an inspiration to maybe organize a session for just me and my husband. You hear that, babe? Happy anniversary, you two! Sometimes the best part of a photo-session happens right at the very end. It`s those last few photos that happen right when you think you`re done and are just about to pack it up. I`ve learned to not put my camera away until I`m walking away to my car… and it pays off!!! Like when I met with C, J, and baby O. It wasn`t until we thought that we were done that J asked “Hey is there a police station or a fire department near by?”, “Yes, actually, we`re a few yards away from the police department. Why?” Then J mentioned his crazy idea of pretending to drop O off at a Safe Surrender station. As it turns out[…]See more from “Sometimes the best comes last: Belmont Child & Family Photography”

2 yr olds are speedy little things. They also like to fully exercise their own mind and show you that no matter how nicely you ask (or plead) they will do their own thing. Such was the case with little A. He likes his tractor, and his special trains, but he didn’t really enjoy staying in the same spot for more than … Oh … 5 seconds 🙂 It’s not very often that I come across a session where the youngest of my participants wasn’t willing to be entertained (even through bribery). Hr even caught onto my imaginary squirrel spotting. He’s a bright dude, to be sure! Our shoot quickly converted to a ‘hey, let’s just go play on the[…]See more from “It’s a bird! It’s a plane!
