Every time I look at little X, I swear I’m seeing a mini version of his daddy. I really wanna see baby pics of J side by side, I tell you. This is my second year photographing this family, and I’m really enjoying being around this little guy. He’s really, really sweet. I have been so lucky to be part of documenting this family’s history over the past two years. I’ve photographed little Q since he was an itty, bitty infant. We’ve seen each other every 3 months, and watching him grow and turn into a little boy has been bitter-sweet. Like a lot of little kiddos, he’s into bugs, bubbles, balls and books. As we navigated through Shorebird Park we stopped to observe a trail of ants. Q picked some to go, and we spent quite a bit of time as he let his little friends crawl over him. Stay adorable, little man. I look forward to seeing you again next year! G and A are die-hard Giants fans. And that’s actually saying a lot, living in the Bay Area. I’ll be honest: I didn’t get it. I mean, I get athletes doing sports, I get that people follow games, but I never quite got why people were so intense about any particular team and associated their win as a joint effort. And then G posted a note to his little man urging him to some day understand the values of hard work, teamwork, perseverance, diligence and faith. Values exhibited by this team. And then I got it: it wasn’t about the game — it was about what a group of people, working together towards a difficult challenge, represent. So, little R,[…]See more from “Redwood City, CA Bay Area Child & Family Photographer: The little Giant”

My mini-session season has officially kicked off, and it started with these guys. Can you believe little M turns 2? Tomorrow!!! I was there when he the world said “Hello!” to him for the first time, and it’s so cool to see the then and now and photograph him every year. Although, I only have 2 years of this, last year he handed me a cookie, and I happened to snag a shot of it, and this year he handed me a flower, just as I was photographing him again. I wonder what I’m going to get next year?I’ve had the privilege to be part of Big Sister K’s life since she was born too, and look at her now?[…]See more from “Redwood City, CA Bay Area Child & Family Photographer: A golden afternoon”

Redwood City, CA Birth Photographer: Welcome to this world

A few weeks ago, I had the awesome opportunity to document the birth of my best friend’s son. It was the first birth I’ve really witnessed. You might be scratching your head, wondering, “But you have a kid, right?”. The answer is “Yes!”, but you see, I slept through his birth. After over 10 hours of intense labor and some pesky cord-wrap shenanigans, I was ushered into an emergency c-section where the numbing power of drugs was quite nap inducing. So, A’s labor was a big treat for me. I felt like I could live through her. And she did amazing!!! While she swears she screamed the whole time and scared other laboring people down the hall, I’m here to[…]See more from “Redwood City, CA Birth Photographer: Welcome to this world”
