I’m almost embarrassed to admit how long ago this family photo session took place and I am just now writing about it. Judging from the golden grass, though, you can tell this was one of the mini sessions I held last fall. I so enjoy photographing this family. As a matter of fact, this session was one of my favorites, and I was saving my favorites for last (you know… “save the best for last” sort of thing), but as things kept getting in the way all of a sudden getting through the last few slipped way past the new year like I had initially set out for myself. Don’t get me wrong — the business is a good thing…[…]See more from “Redwood City Family Photography: Plus grandma”

No, no! I promise you’re not seeing double, nor am I trying to pull a fast one on you. I know this looks like L from the Belmont mini session I just posted yesterday, but I promise she doesn’t live a double life or a polygamous relationship. L has an identical twin sister, J. I remember I first encountered J at a birthday party for her nephew. I thought it was her sister. Not only do they look alike, but they have similar mannerisms, and their vocal tone is the same. I have rarely seen twins that are this alike. It’s a trip! And they are both truly awesome people, so you want to know and hang out with both[…]See more from “Belmont Mini Session Photographer: Wait… deja vu?”

Do you want to hear a small world story? Ok! Background: We started teaching our kids how to swim from just about the time they got their polio vaccines. I’m a crummy swimmer, and have declared my kids will feel comfortable in the water and will get themselves out of a jam, if they need to. BTW — our youngest will smile ALL the way sinking to the bottom now. He’s a little too excited about being in a pool, and forgets to paddle. But I digress… Our youngest son has a very unique name. I’m willing to bet that he is the only one with this name in the nearest 20 miles. At Kinds Swim Academy (my favorite swim[…]See more from “Belmont Family Photographer: Small world”

April ended with a fantastic family photography session celebrating these twin boys’ 1st year. I photographed their last few weeks in residence of M’s maternity session; I had the privilege of being one of the first to bid them welcome to our world, and you saw their newborn session. As part of their post-natal care they were asked answer a questionnaire, including the question “How will your lifestyle change?” As a family friend, and having the opportunity to observe it, I can tell you the changes have been big. There’s so much that goes on with twins (from figuring sleep out with two babies, managing child-care help and tracking milestones) but these guys have done such, SUCH an amazing job.[…]See more from “Los Altos Family Photography: How did their lifestyle change?”

Hopefully your head is not spinning from the bouncing around from session locations yet. There is a reason I’m doing this. It is purposeful: in big part not to bore you with the same location a whole bunch in a row. This post wraps up my Menlo Park mini sessions at El Palo Alto Park. It was an awesome one that I’ve been waiting at the edge of patience to share with you. It’s finally time! It feels like 2014 has been a year of twins for me. I don’t know how it happened, but I’ll take it! I got to witness the birth of twins, photograph their newborn session, then two sets of twin siblings over summer for There[…]See more from “Menlo Park Mini Session Photographer: Double the awesome”
