Redwood City Family Photography: Plus grandma

I’m almost embarrassed to admit how long ago this family photo session took place and I am just now writing about it. Judging from the golden grass, though, you can tell this was one of the mini sessions I held last fall. I so enjoy photographing this family. As a matter of fact, this session was one of my favorites, and I was saving my favorites for last (you know… “save the best for last” sort of thing), but as things kept getting in the way all of a sudden getting through the last few slipped way past the new year like I had initially set out for myself. Don’t get me wrong — the business is a good thing…[…]See more from “Redwood City Family Photography: Plus grandma”

Bay Area Newborn Photographer: Baby O

You don’t have to scroll very far to see the maternity session for this little guy. Little O arrived a few weeks early, and he was celebrating his one month birthday on the day of our session. One of the best things about lifestyle newborn sessions (I think) is the flexibility it affords my families. I do newborn sessions any time in the first month of life. While babies aren’t quite the newbies at that age, I like not having to stress out my mom clients with having to accommodate a photographer amidst learning the ways of their new baby. In the scariest of cases I’ve had clients need surgery after delivery, and even in the best of cases the[…]See more from “Bay Area Newborn Photographer: Baby O”

Bay Area Maternity Photography: Preparing for baby

I ended my 2015 photography year, capturing N’s beautiful pregnancy with an awesome maternity photography session on Alameda’s Crab Cove beach. In my mind I had visions of beautiful beach sunsets and sun-colored clouds… but instead we got socked in with chilly fog, and a blank canvas sky. Though the bright colors I had dancing in my head didn’t come to be, what we walked away with was a set ethereal, and really snuggly photos. We started our session with family portraits, accompanied by soon to be big sister C. However, since N’s dad was visiting from our of town, he joined us and played with his grand-baby while I got a chance to photograph G & N just on[…]See more from “Bay Area Maternity Photography: Preparing for baby”

Palo Alto Family Photography: Flexibility

C and her family were my second to last family photography session of 2015. We met on a foggy Saturday morning (in December) after our winter rains had finally arrived. It was a super chilly day, highlighted by the wet frost on the ground. Since we met at a location new to me, I arrived early to scope things out. As I walked through the grass you could see the paths I was making because my feet were disturbing the frost — it was a really cool sight to be honest: dulled grass that was reclaimed some of its vibrancy in the places I moved through it. Straight up it was cold! And by the end of our session, little[…]See more from “Palo Alto Family Photography: Flexibility”

Foster City Newborn Photographer: Re-connecting

4 years ago I was among the first to photograph the lovely, brand-new baby C. Her mom discovered me while search through Yelp for a newborn photographer and the newborn session we had together produced a set of baby portraits I think back on to this day. Fast forward 4 years later to baby C now being a vibrant, fun, big kid…. AND (now) a big sister. Mom and dad reached out to me again late last year to let me know they were expecting again. So, I got to reprise me role in their home. I loved it! The timing of the whole thing was kismet too. I’m in the process of transitioning to a new way of tracking[…]See more from “Foster City Newborn Photographer: Re-connecting”
