Little N has been appearing before my lens for the past 3 years. It’s been fun to see her grow over time and see her personality evolve. She’s free spirited and I love it! This last session was no exception. She brought her monkey toy-friend along and proceeded to (herself) channel ‘monkey’ for more our less our whole mini session. From the start, climbing up big rocks; to peeking at me, while bent over — it was a silly kind of day. Might I add how impressed I am with kids’ flexibility? At the end of our session I had just moved us to this cool section of grass hills, when nature beckened for N and we needed to wrap[…]See more from “Menlo Park, CA Family & Child Photographer: Silly like her monkey”

Menlo Park, CA Family Photographer: Hiding in the trees

When I scout locations for mini sessions, one of the things that I look for is versatility. It’s important to me that each of my families have a unique experience, and their photos don’t look cookie cutter to everyone else that day. It keeps me thinking on my toes a little, and I’m sure you don’t get bored following either ;p I love El Palo Alto Park! It’s a hidden little gem straddling Menlo Park and Palo Alto. You walk through it in three minutes, so it’s easy to overlook, which is sad because it’s an incredibly pretty spot. I think bicyclists get more out of it as they cut through on their ride. You saw it before at this[…]See more from “Menlo Park, CA Family Photographer: Hiding in the trees”

This was my third family portrait session for There With Care. Every family I’ve met with, over the years, has been so incredible. I’ve walked away feeling energized and grateful. In turn, I hope to have contributed, at least a little, in each family’s healing. While the logistics are always a little harder to arrange, it’s such a worth-while experience for me. Meeting J and her family was no exception. I don’t know about you, but when I’m sick I become selfish. Woe is me, and I want to lie around the house feeling sorry for myself. I want a TV remote in my hand staring off until I fall asleep, wallowing in how crummy I feel. Yet, I look[…]See more from “Palo Alto, CA Child Photographer: Grace”

April is baby month! After I announced that I will be taking a break after April, I took inventory of all my upcoming photo sessions. I found it interesting that all my March bookings were about expecting moms and April transitioned into meeting their little ones. It’s exciting, and I’m glad to be hitting the pause button on this kind of high note. So prepare – lots of new person love is coming your way over the next few weeks. You’ve seen C quite a bit before. I’m really excited I get to be part of this baby journey with them this time around. Right when (soon-to-be big brother) Q was born, C reached out to me to inquire about[…]See more from “Palo Alto, CA Maternity & Family Photographer: A second adventure”

Little E had been in front of my lens since his rug-rat days, so I’m sure his face is familiar to you by now. I always look forward to photographing these guys. They trust me and my crazy ‘hey let’s do this!’ ideas, which always keeps things fun for me… hopefully for them too! I didn’t think that after four years of being their family photographer, I would still be learning new things about them, but I am, and it’s helping me grow not only as a photographer but also as a professional. Through K I learned about environmental allergies: as I discovered that people are allergic to eucalyptus trees. Don’t worry — no adorable family members were harmed in[…]See more from “Palo Alto, CA Child & Family Photographer: Always learning”
