Once a year a group of my friends gathers up for a week-end away. A girls week-end. I look forward to this time every year. I love my boys at home, but I also love the chance to be an adult, that doesn’t constantly nag the short person next to me to stop annoying his brother.
We’re a mix of professions, ages, religions and political views that respect and support each other. Our group has known each other for about 8 years now? Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever really counted before. Yet, still I continue to learn new things about my friends in ways to make me appreciate them more and more.
So here’s a peak at our girls’ week-end away. You’ve seen many of these faces before. Two from our group couldn’t make it, but don’t worry — we made sure to Skype them in 🙂
In years past we’ve gone to Napa, but this was our first adventure south to Santa Cruz. It was wonderful! I got to indulge in some delicious food (btw, Kelly’s French Bakery has THE most amazing ham and cheese croissants I have ever eaten), hang at the beach, drink some wine, visit a sock store and do a bit of shopping.
I can’t wait for next year!
Check out my cartwheels. Yep! I still got it 🙂
