Belmont Baptism Photographer: Telling stories

I drive by the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross in Belmont almost every week-day on my way to drop off your youngest at his pre-school. It’s an incredible building on the outside. The doors alone are remarkable, and I’ve had fantasies of being able to photograph in this space for such a long time. My family goes to the Greek Festival held by their community every year: (frankly it’s one of the few chances I have to get a taste of the sweets I grew up with this side of the Atlantic). But I had never before been inside. Earlier in the week I received a call asking if I would be available to photograph a Belmont Baptism.[…]See more from “Belmont Baptism Photographer: Telling stories”

Belmont Baby Photos: The best time

Newborn photos are great! I love photographing a fresh infant in their first few weeks of life. There’s all the new-found love from parents, and the marvel at how tiny this new person is. But you know what’s even more fun? Baby photos!!! Yep — I’m talking 6-9 months of pure baby giggles. It’s when Mom & Dad gets their feet back from under them; those sleeplessness nights have either improved, or parents have resolved to the reality and now time is just fun. Babies are smiling (for more reasons than gas!), vocalizing, blowing raspberry ‘cuz it’s awesome, sitting up and playing with their feet. How is this not awesome? It’s also I would never turn away a session in[…]See more from “Belmont Baby Photos: The best time”

I’m going to let you into the world of child photographers for a minute. There’s a feeling of pure joy, and excitement… not unlike that of a little kid on Christmas day, when the card in your camera contains images that simply make you giddy excited to see in your editing software. Sometimes that’s because the light came through just the right way on the one pose that mattered, sometimes it’s about getting that one pose form your head just right, and sometimes it’s because you managed to capture the natural personalities of your families just the right way. In this session, it was the latter for me, and I reveled at the ease it was to photograph these guys.[…]See more from “Belmont Child Photographer: Bright”

No, no! I promise you’re not seeing double, nor am I trying to pull a fast one on you. I know this looks like L from the Belmont mini session I just posted yesterday, but I promise she doesn’t live a double life or a polygamous relationship. L has an identical twin sister, J. I remember I first encountered J at a birthday party for her nephew. I thought it was her sister. Not only do they look alike, but they have similar mannerisms, and their vocal tone is the same. I have rarely seen twins that are this alike. It’s a trip! And they are both truly awesome people, so you want to know and hang out with both[…]See more from “Belmont Mini Session Photographer: Wait… deja vu?”

Belmont Family Photographer: Small world

Do you want to hear a small world story? Ok! Background: We started teaching our kids how to swim from just about the time they got their polio vaccines. I’m a crummy swimmer, and have declared my kids will feel comfortable in the water and will get themselves out of a jam, if they need to. BTW — our youngest will smile ALL the way sinking to the bottom now. He’s a little too excited about being in a pool, and forgets to paddle. But I digress… Our youngest son has a very unique name. I’m willing to bet that he is the only one with this name in the nearest 20 miles. At Kinds Swim Academy (my favorite swim[…]See more from “Belmont Family Photographer: Small world”
